The Redmi Pad 2 Pro’s touchscreen is sampled 240 times per second, and this can increase to up to 360 Hz when using the optional stylus. Even without the stylus, the 120 Hz display responds very quickly to input and ensures smooth operation.
The tablet doesn’t pack a fingerprint sensor, which means you can only log in biometrically via facial recognition. Even in the dark, this works well, as long as the screen is bright enough, but its 2D recognition method doesn’t offer a particularly high level of security.
The Redmi Smart Pen and the optional Redmi Pad 2 Pro Keyboard can be charged via USB-C and also connect to the tablet via Bluetooth. Thanks to the tablet’s generous size, you can even type longer texts relatively comfortably using the keyboard dock. However, a touchpad and backlighting are both absent, and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro keyboard doesn’t feel particularly premium to the touch due to its plastic surface.
By contrast, using the Redmi Smart Pen is a real pleasure. The pen responds just as quickly and precisely to input as the touchscreen. It also supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and has two buttons that allow you to switch brush types and colors in the Mi Canvas app with a single press.
